We are proud to share that our tribe has successfully defended our name and heritage in court, winning our trademark lawsuit against former members of the tribe who left and started their own, new group, several years ago. After a lengthy legal process, the court has ruled in our favor. We are the original and rightful tribe and our trademarked name is protected by law. This decision reaffirms our identity, our history, and the strength of our people. If you are contacted by people claiming to be from the Talimali Band and they are not with our band, Chief Arthur Bennett’s band, then they are violating the law. They may identify as being Apalachee. They may not use our legally trademarked name, the Talimali Band.
