Apalachee Video Game (2025)

We are proud to announce the completion of an educational video game project featuring the Apalachee Indians. The Talimali Band worked in partnership with PBS, WNET, Mission US, and Electric Fun Stuff to develop this interactive classroom resource.

The game teaches students about Apalachee history, archaeology, culture, and anthropology through engaging mini-games. Tribal member and Second Chief Charissa Bennett-Inabnet worked closely with the development team to ensure historical accuracy and cultural authenticity.

NSU Folk Festival— July 2025

In July 2025, the Talimali Band of the Apalachee Indians of Louisiana participated in the 45th Annual Natchitoches–NSU Folk Festival at Northwestern State University.

We shared Apalachee history and culture with attendees, presented traditional arts and crafts, and distributed educational materials about our tribal heritage, including information about Antonio Inija, our Apalachee ancestor currently under consideration for sainthood.
